2016 has been an amazing year of growth for myself and House of Bohn. The interior design team has been killing it in all their projects and my media team has doubled in size just over a couple of months. Though this is a bit early (Christmas hasn’t even happened!) I wanted to end the year with a style countdown. Over the next three weeks I’ll be releasing three blog and YouTube posts where I sit down and have a cocktail with three of Vancouver’s most stylish men in three restaurant hot spots. We talk about style, social media and what’s upcoming for 2017…

Jason Sarai’s undeniable sense of style captures a modern twist on classic, European menswear. The designer of Jason Sarai Bespoke, widely known for his online presence, Style by Sarai, has made a substantial impact on the men’s fashion sector around Canada. With countless collaborations with luxury groups, such as GQ, Lexus, Lululemon and Ted Baker, he has undoubtedly become a sought-after advocate on business, fitness and particularly, style.

K: What do you attribute your success to?

J: I’m still far from successful in my mind. There is no doubt that I’m thankful for the opportunities and the growth of my company thus far.  However, I feel that we’re just scratching the surface of the potential of where we can go with our company and the impact we can make on how people dress and feel in the clothing they wear.

The growth of Style by Sarai and my Jason Sarai Bespoke suit line is in large part thanks to the support of my wife Tasha, family, friends and my team of Bespoke Stylists and Master Tailor. I’ve been extremely fortunate to have business advisors and mentors provide guidance along my entrepreneurial journey and that challenge me to think bigger.

Being passionate and value driven has allowed me to put in the necessary hours to build the momentum and create a space for the company to grow by adding consultants to my team.  We’re just having fun and playing to our individual and collective strengths. That in itself is success to me.

K: Why is personal style important to you?

J: Style has the ability to provide a perspective of your energy and personality before your audience even have a chance to hear you speak. Style acts as your social armor and gives you strength and confidence to put your best foot forward each and every day.

K: How will you be pushing yourself in 2017?

J: Working with my mentors and strategic advisers to build a plan and be accountable to.  Prioritizing health and fitness as well as time with family and close friends so that I have the needed energy and balance to keep pushing forward on a personal and professional level.

Nightingale Restaurant hosted our first ever Cocktail Conversation. My favorite drink there is a sparkling wine classic with a lemon twist called the Champagne Cocktail. They make it the best but you can try making it at home.

Champagne Cocktail

1 oz Calvados apple brandy
1 raw cane sugar cube
3 dashes Angostura bitters
1 dash Scrappy’s Cardamom bitters
Champagne to top off glass
1 lemon

Drop one sugar cube in a flute or coupe, add the bitters and brandy. Top with champagne or other dry sparkling wine and garnish with a lemon twist.

Watch for next weeks Cocktail conversation with my new friend Joshua Langston.

Thanks for stopping by!
